Three factions. One crystal world. Build, expand and destroy, right in your browser.

Shardfront is a classic base-building real-time strategy game with hand-painted art. Gather crystals and plasma, raise a base, research upgrades and command an army against computer opponents. Then win a six-mission campaign across the crystal world of Kesh.

Three very different factions

  • Ironhold: rugged human soldiers, tanks and gunships. Their Riggers stay on site to build faster and repair machines.
  • Vyrm: a living coral-and-fungus reef of shelled creatures. Their workers become buildings, everything heals itself and their swarms are cheap.
  • Aurelian: golden sun-temple constructs. Few and expensive, but every unit and building carries a shield that recharges out of combat.

Features

  • Campaign: six missions with their own goals: wipe out an outpost, survive seven minutes of waves, field a heavy armored column, play as the Vyrm and the Aurelians, and a three-way finale.
  • Skirmish: fight one opponent or a free-for-all against up to three, on Easy, Normal or Hard, on Small, Medium or Large maps.
  • Easy to learn: a guided tutorial that waits for you, plain-language tooltips and a Codex that explains every unit and building.
  • Point and click: every command is a button; arrow keys or WASD move the camera.
  • Plays on touch screens: tap to select and command, drag to pan, pinch to zoom.
  • Sound and music: a soundtrack that rises with the fighting, with separate on/off switches.
  • Save anywhere: three save slots plus autosave, stored in your browser.

Controls

  • Mouse: left-click or drag a box to select · right-click to move, attack, mine or repair · click the command buttons to build and train · arrow keys / WASD move the camera · mouse wheel zooms · Esc opens the menu.
  • Touch: tap to select · tap the map to move / attack / mine · drag to pan · pinch to zoom · use Select army, Box select and Deselect in the touch bar.

Best in landscape on phones. Works in current Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari.

Art made with Higgsfield. All factions and characters are fictional.
